In a few short hours, I will attempt to go to Sweden. Lets hope you don't hear from me until June 21st. But my previously pessimistic outlook, which was shrouded with a cloud of perpetual doom has been lifted. I am a bit more non-chalant, go with the flow, que sera sera, etc. And it feels much better this way. I am appropriately excited. Excited such that I am really looking forward to going, but not too excited that if I don't make it my world will crumble like a stale cookie.

Needless to say, I really hope that I do! I can picture myself now, drinking coffee and reading a good book (Blood Red Road by Moira Young) at a quaint little table on a cobble stone street. My coffee will be accompanied by a little treatsie. I will say things like, "Vill du fika med mig?" One of the only swedish phrases I remember.

Or...I will still be in Chicago. Sleeping in, drinking coffee, and celebrating Seashell's birthday.

Each comes complete with perks. But I am really hoping for Sweden, if simply because their coffee is just so much better than ours.

I bid farewell. Goodbye. Adios. Aurevoir. Auf Wiedesehen. Arrivederci.

Hej då.
