Follow Friday is a blog hop hosted by two blogs, Alison of Alison Can Read and Rachel of Parajunkee.
It is a weekly meme created to influence community among blogs -- the concept -- I follow you and you follow me. Win, win!

How it works:
-Visit these two great blogs!
-Leave your name on the post.
-Create a post on your own blog that links back to the post (just grab the FF button) visit as many blogs as you can and tell them hello! In their comments.
-Be sure to follow them and if someone follows you follow back!!!!

This week's question: What's the craziest thing you've ever done to get your hands on any particular book?

Hmm...the craziest thing I have ever done for a book...good question?

I suppose I would say the craziest thing I have done for a book/books, was subject myself to the closing sale at Border's on State Street in Chicago. I am talking hordes of people stampeding their way through the shelves. And I willingly chose to go just to see what YA book treasures were left to be excavated. I went once. I went twice. And then I went a third time (thrice?). It was worth it. I found it so sad that such a mammoth store was closing that I just needed to make sure I walked out of there with as many books as I could!

Thanks for stopping by!

And...I am hosting a giveaway -- Win The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith!

  1. My TBR pile is so huge because I took advantage of Borders closing. It ripped my heart out that they did because they were my go to bookstore for years and years. But I did come away several times with some great books! It allowed me to buy the books I had been thinking about but getting them at a much more affordable price!

Thanks for visiting and following my blog! I follow you now too!

    Have a GREAT weekend!

  2. Thanks for the follow! Followed back :D

OMG, I definitely did the same thing with a Borders store here in NY! I walked away with 12 books (all YA) and spend only 50 dollars! WIN!

  3. I definitely took advantage of the Borders closing sales - although I was so sad to see them go :( I had both Borders and B&N in town, but I much preferred Borders, the staff was friendlier and less kids running amok!

  7. I was so very sad when my Border's closed, and I didn't even make it to any of their closing sales... lucky for you! I hope you are enjoying your reads now :)

  8. I remember when both the Borders near me closed :( It was really sad since I loved going to the one that was a town over to read for hours and buy more books than my poor bookshelf could hold! Definitely bought a couple of books when they had their closing sale but by the time I went, they were already almost cleared out!

    I'm a new follower! :)

  10. The day Borders closed, it felt like a part of me died as well. So many memories (I have to admit I go and stand out the front of the old store and look up at it wistfully, the sign is still there!)

I'm an old follower but I've never seen the #FF until today which means I must not go on twitter on Fridays because it's been everywhere!!!
