Waiting On Wednesday Academy Awards Style

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine.
Usually, we pick a book that we are eagerly awaiting its pub date.

However, since it is Academy Awards Month here at Imaginative Adventure, I am going to pick a book that I am eagerly awaiting its movie...or its future potential of a movie!

This week:

I am waiting on the movie version of--
(to clarify -- this is merely a book that I hope will one day be a movie)

The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight
by Jennifer E. Smith

This book would make a perfect movie. The story is simple enough that it could easily be fit into a two hour time frame and manage to capture all of the important and worthwhile moments. The story is rich with emotion; a movie portrayal (if cast correctly) could easily capture its essence.  The plot is adorably heart-breaking and heart-warming. The characters are so darn charming. Some of them even have lovely British accents. Not to mention that the main location is both an airport and London. Perfect settings for a great movie.

Because of the cover that I just oh-so-adore, I think this movie could be interesting in black and white. Except for small accents of color.

Who would have guessed that four minutes could change everything?
Today should be one of the worst days of seventeen-year-old Hadley Sullivan's life. She's stuck at JFK, late to her father's second wedding, which is taking place in London and involves a soon to be step-mother that Hadley's never even met. Then she meets the perfect boy in the airport's cramped waiting area. His name is Oliver, he's British, and he's in seat 18C. Hadley's in 18A.
Twists of fate and quirks of timing play out in this thoughtful novel about family connections, second chances and first loves. Set over a 24-hour-period, Hadley and Oliver's story will make you believe that true love finds you when you're least expecting it.(Goodreads Summary)

  7. I have to admit, I've never read the book. But in my defense, I tend to not enjoy pure romance/contemporary pieces all that much. Maybe one day, I'll pick it up!

    Thanks for visiting my WoW
