A week in the life (1)...

This has been quite the week! I found myself very, very busy. Not physically but emotionally. My mind was just on overload. I started a new job, and I've decided that it requires some discretion. Yes, I now work for the government. I will clue you in; I'm part of the CIA. Tell no one.

So, that has come with its own ups and downs. Mainly I am just on high power trying to master a new routine. Monday evening, I found myself missing my Layla (the down). I am not good with change. I like routines, consistency and predictability. Thus the thrust into a new environment rips me apart like a food processor. It is exhausting and reduces me to a pulp. I'm a perfectionist. And starting something new comes with making mistakes. Ergo, perfection is hard to obtain. That makes me crave the environment I left. Reality, perfection isn't something you start out with, it is something you create. And perfection isn't never making mistakes, it is learning from them and growing so you can know how to do it better the next time. The ups are there too, I just need to take the yoke off my shoulders in order to better appreciate them.

Other than a job change, this is what I've been up to...

JUICING: I just bought a new juicer! Roommate Cousin and I have been delighting in the pleasantry of homemade juice! We've made several different concoctions and have not gone wrong yet.

Melon/Cucumber -- Watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew, and cucumber
Citrus Explosion -- grapefruit, orange, and lemon
Berry Apple -- Strawberries, cucumber, apples, spinach
Perfection in a Glass -- Mango, apple, orange
Care -- Carrots, pear

BLOGGING: I love blogging. It gives me motivation to devour books (Right now I am reading The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead and am loving it--stay tuned to what is bound to be a glowing review). And it gives me a means to pour out my heart and soul. And it makes me write, which leads to me wanting to dive back into working on my books. This is the summer. One blessing of this job with the CIA is that I have long weekends and extra time to work on my other job--writing!!!

BIKING AND THE BEACH: I have spent the past four weekends at the beach. It is great to be out doors in the sunshine. And it is great to have discovered the perfection of biking. There was a point about three years ago where the majority of my family would have "literally died" if they found out I biked everywhere. But in the city, it is really the best way to go. And it has gotten us to the beach every weekend, allowing an avoidance of the parking fiasco so that we can spend more time soaking up the sun and the view.

That's it for now. As the summer rolls on, I am sure there will be a multitude of highlights coming your way.
