NaNoWriMo Draws Near

Well, I failed at my 30 days of blogging. Whoops. The goal was to create a habit of writing something every day. To draw my mind back into the world of words.

But, I will not dwell on my failure but prepare for the next task.

Which is... NaNoWriMo.

My first ever launch into writing a novel was through NaNoWriMo (though I did it in February). There's such inspiration in this month. Aspiring and successful writers alike are hunkering down in hopes to achieve their goal of 50,000 words. We writers are joining together in solidarity to pour out the words and stories we have bundled inside.

This style of writing is just a forward motion. You write and write without looking back. Without worrying about editing or a chapter that doesn't fit. You just write. You write and don't reread. Not until the month is over. Not until 50,000 words have been bled on the page.

Given my months of utter writing failure, I'm excited for this one month where I plan to force myself to stop making excuses. Where I will force all of my friends and family to hound me relentlessly to make sure I'm achieving my daily word count. Where I sit down and write instead of watching such and such.

This is my month. And it starts in 2 days.

Wish me luck.

For all who are also participating, what are some of your motivators?
